I finally got my up close and personal look at Splinter Cell Conviction today, but this demonstration wasn't you're ordinary developer/PR demonstration that you guys might be use to seeing. The Frag Dolls' Spectra was on hand in all of her beauty to show me the game's basics. Being a pro in my own right, I was intrigued by Conviction's seamless gameplay mechanics. She "owned" Conviction , blowing several enemies' heads off without even blinking. Credit that to Convictions new "Mark and Execute" feature, which allows you to use Sam Fisher in his more vicious stages of aiming.
There are actually a couple of different modes available with cooperative play. One of those is the two player campaign, which is actually the prequel to the single player game story wise. There's also "Deniable Ops" which is basically Splinter Cell's own objective based mode, similar to something like MW2 's "Spec Ops" mode. There are three different difficulties to select from to accomodate each players skill level. With the added depth of co-op to the already heavily layered single player, there's no doubt this game is set to be quite successful upon it's release.
Splinter Cell Conviction will be available on February 23, 2010. Be sure to check Spectra and the Frag Dolls out
